The camera has started to roll for the film “El Presidente” and Superstar Nora Aunor was elated to shoot her first few scenes in Kawit, Cavite.
Wearing a gown created by production and costume designer Dez Bautista, Aunor seemed to be at home doing her craft while she acts before the camera as Maria Agoncillo, the second wife of Philippines’ first President Emilio Aguinaldo.
A lot of money was spent on the set and costumes, which were inspired by the fashion in 1930.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Aunor said she was amazed at how beautiful Agoncillo’s bridal gown was. She said she wants to buy and keep it.
Film director Tikoy Aguiluz, on the other hand, said he believes the biopic will be a hit because the Superstar is a good actress.
“Overwhelmed ako parang hindi totoo... I hope everything will work out. Siyempre nag-evolve na rin siya as an artist. I’ve always wanted to work with her,” said Aguiluz.
Meanwhile, Aunor’s leading man, ER Ejercito, said he would want his uncle, former President Joseph Estrada and the Superstar to meet up after the two patch things up.
